SHOWRUNNER, DIRECTOR, DEVELOPMENT EP

Lindsay Graciela Perna is an Emmy Award-winning executive producer, director and digital media strategist specializing in platform-native storytelling, audience growth and talent-driven formats.

She currently leads video strategy at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, helping transform the legacy news organization into a digital-first media company. As head of its new video team, Lindsay has built social and longform strategies across TikTok, YouTube and other emerging platforms, including relaunching the AJC’s YouTube channel with Curiosities of the South, whose premiere surpassed 300,000 views and garnered 30k+ new subscribers. She also led the visual storytelling behind ICE Sweeps Georgia, which earned the AJC its first Peabody Award in the main competition, winning in the Immersive & Interactive category for merging traditional reporting with social-native storytelling on TikTok. The team’s work has also been recognized by the Southeast Emmys, Webbys and National Headliner Awards, while the AJC was named one of Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies in 2025.

Previously, Lindsay executive produced a vertical-video campaign featuring creators including UnderTheDeskNews and Carlos Eduardo Espina, and has spent much of her career developing content specifically for digital platforms. She directed and executive produced the Snap Originals docuseries Run for Office, led development on unscripted programming for YouTube Originals, and developed a long-form series about Latino culture in the U.S. hosted by John Leguizamo for MSNBC. She also executive produced and showran Glad You Asked, the YouTube Originals series with Vox that received two Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Educational or Informational Series, where she helped shape the show’s talent-driven format, directing hosts including Cleo Abram and Joss Fong.

Earlier in her career, Lindsay spent several years at CNN, where she directed high-profile talent, produced network-priority specials and helped launch Beme, CNN’s digital production company created with Casey Neistat. Her work there earned an Emmy Award nomination and contributed to Peabody-recognized journalism.

Her long-form work includes the Spanish-language documentary feature The Age of Water, which premiered internationally at the Morelia Film Festival and at Mountainfilm before airing in Season 38 of POV on PBS in 2025. The film was supported by Latino Public Broadcasting and programs at Firelight Media and Chicken & Egg Pictures. She also produced Duty Free, which premiered at DOC NYC in 2020 and was distributed by PBS Independent Lens.

Across platforms and formats, Lindsay’s work has focused on the same challenge: how to pair strong editorial and brand identity with the language, talent and production models native to the platforms where culture is defined.

  • COMING OF AGE

RUN FOR OFFICE served the content gap faced by Gen Z on Snapchat: revealing context on the future of democracy told through the eyes of the generation that’s either going to upend it or rebuild it.

  • LATINO HISTORY

Created an in-depth series template for NBC News Studios’ LEGUIZAMO DOES AMERICA, employing research from notable experts and cultural figures in development to inform a direction for the show.

  • HUMAN CURIOSITY

Harnessed Vox’s signature explainer model in GLAD YOU ASKED, a premium docuseries tailored to the YouTube audience, bringing life’s curiosities into perspective with compelling scenes and immersive graphics.

leading and directing a team

Lindsay's well-versed with running a large rotating team of creatives during concurrent episode production, managing network stakeholders on editorial and marketing, and primarily articulating a unique visual direction from conception stages to final execution.
She's most at home directing talent and camera in the field and on set, which you can see in this reel lovingly created by her former team.
